Steem is very undervalued in my opinion. I think 2018 will be explosive for Steem and the new platforms that will be created based on its blockchain.

3 seconds blocks, instant transactions with no fees, extreme scalability, SMT, an infinity of future applications and utilities...this is one of the best projects out there, no doubts.

Thanks for this info. A while back @stan wrote a very important and prophetic article entitled "When The Levee Breaks" http://steem.link/PvIZ2 There he showed what we are seeing now. Clogged blockchains grinding to a halt unless they are built on Graphene technology.

Question: What non Bitcoin on and off ramps are available that can make use of Steem and BitShares? If useable ones exist it's game over and we win. Big Time.

Looking at this information makes me not worry too much about the dip. Market cap spikes/drops have little significance in the long run.

The fall is scary, but cryptos and their technology are here to stay. Research where to diversify and find good projects to get in on early (but not always a good idea to do ICOs, they often fall below ICO price). If you have a project you wanted to get in on, but felt the price was too high, then today could be the opportunity to do so!

It already demands expensive computers, above retail level to sustain, and its demands accelerate faster than technology.

Dear @roadscape ,
I voted for you as a witness, I have an important question:
for to exchange Steem into another crypto currency we all need an account at a crypto currency exchange. There are 2: Bittrex and Poloniex
Bittrex stopped open new accounts since 15th december, when they start again? Nobody knows.
At Poloniex I tried to sign up a new account yesterday, until today I got no confirmation mail to start the opening procedure!
So what to do?
How can new users exchange their steem? That's the big question and I don't understand why Steemit and the big "whales" not offer any support for that problem, they all have their accounts already.... That makes we wonder, really, because that's the main reason why people join Steemit, to earn a little money, but if there is no possibility for exchange steem, all is useless.
Have you any idea?

Let's forget who is faster than who. We have a bigger problem to fix: we want blockchain with millions of transactions per seconds. That should be the goal not the usual I can do 4x bitcoin speed etc.

This is OT: I have seen, you have a lot of Steem Dollar (SBD) in your wallet. You should get rid of them and buy Steem or something else. SBDs are extremely unsafe to store value in. The only thing that gives SBDs value is pure speculation and coincidence. I wrote a post about the issue and I find the way SBDs are handled so concerning that I looked up users with a lot of them and warn them about it.

Though I'm admittedly waaay out of my depth still in terms of understanding both blockchain and crypto, being an incredibly visual person, these charts help clarify things. Thank you.

As I cut my Steemit teeth, I'm learning all I can about not just crypto, but how and why the value of currencies fluctuate so dramatically. I was reading yesterday about the Elliot Wave Theory and how it's used to analyze market cycles and forecast trends by identifying investor psychology, among other things. I'm fascinated by the idea that market prices / investor behaviors unfold in specific, predictable patterns. I suppose it's a foolish daydream to imagine being able to study and make sense of them, yet I found myself imagining just that. Who knows? My attention to detail is painfully acute – perhaps I'd actually be good at it.

While I predominantly feel that I stumbled upon Steemit about a year too late, I also hope that I'll be able to look back a year from now and give thanks for having found it so early.

Yes I love this! I just recently myself started comparing the alt coins I am investing and trading in, against BTC and wow what a lesson! So much info can be gained for looking at the charts this way! If you or anybody else has info, or can point me to some tutorials, for better doing comparison chart reading I would be most grateful! I love and enjoy learning about chart reading very much!

That's good to hear! I'm learning/absorbing all I can. While I certainly understand more than I did a few weeks ago, I'll admit that it's been quite overwhelming – an endlessly unfurling pattern of fractal rabbit-holes that I'm pretty sure never ends! Thankfully, I'm not easily deterred, so I'll just continue creating great content while diving ever deeper into the intricacies of all this. Thank you, btw, for steemd – I refer to it often. It's helping me develop at least a peripheral understanding of how it all works.
