You can buy Steem so that you can power it up to Steem Power. With this, you have more influence - your upvote will have more value and you will get more of a share of the rewards when you upvote posts.

I was kidding with the second part. You will not get rich fast unless miracle happens. My offer is to post, comment, gather followers and sooner or later it will payout. I don't recommend to play those follow me-follow you games because usually they don't even read your content so no hopes for upvotes. I know some people whose first post made ~100$ but that was reached with the whales help.

Whale is Steemit user with massive amount of steem power. Their votes usually are worth $30+. They also have lots of followers and every post they resteem is programmed for success.
