PIVX
I've been watching PIVX cryptocurrency this past week. What a crazy ride! Not sure if I will buy in or not. The website looks great, but obviously that doesn't mean anything. I'm not really sold on Proof of Stake... I think that people are buying it because they advertise it as a Dash fork and it's catching the afterglow of the Dash run-up. I'll be honest, I know literally nothing about computer science or the mechanic's behind cryptos, but I don't see the value proposition for PIVX being an "upgraded DASH" when it doesn't even have mining. Am I wrong?

PoS is just an alternative to PoW, it's cleaner and much more economical to run a cryptocurrency on PoS, even Ethereum will switch to PoS at some point, so yes PIVX is superior to Dash in the technical terms.
Just bought some PIVX today and I am excited about it.
Right, cleaner and economical, but highly inflationary. There's not even a cap on how much can be produced. I'm not saying that it can't be used as a currency, but as a store of value it doesn't make sense to me. And, I'm not thinking about buying it to use it or spend it, I'm thinking about buying it for speculation purposes. So, the lack of scarcity is what I'm not sold on.
