Carnival in Spain

Spain is often associated with the word fiesta. It is difficult to find in the Spanish calendar a period without any holidays, celebrations and celebrations. Even during the quiet time between Christmas and Easter, Spaniards find fun and the most important event is of course the Carnival.

Carnival celebrations are a huge street party where towns and cities are filled with fun, joy and laughter. During the carnival you will encounter medieval knights, clowns, pirates, superheroes, fairy tales and other characters wandering the streets of the city and enjoying themselves.

Over the years, many rulers and leaders, including General Franco's regime in Spain tried to forbid the celebration of the feast, but the spirit of the carnival has survived and its popularity is growing every year. Carnival celebrations usually start with star performances, and in continuation people celebrate in the streets. Celebrations last for about a week and include parades, competitions, dress-up games, circus performers and street theaters.
