Algunas vez han comenzado a escribir sobre algo que desconocen. Algo simplemente que no esta planeado y que te cambia los planes. Cuando tienes una idea y deseas desarrollarla pero simplemente no sabes por donde comenzar, allí cuando agarras lápiz y papel y entre garabato de ideas no terminas escribiendo nada. Un ejercicio tan sencillo como escribir tus ideas se vuelve una vuelta atrás. Al final no terminas de poner lo que querías explicar. Y sin embargo la negociación ha sido exitosa. Ya que no te has parado a lavar los platos, ni arreglar la ropa.

Me da risa como mis hijos ponen las ideas sobre la mesa. Ese fregador no funciona igual que en Venezuela, los platos no se friegan solos. Y algo malo debe tener la lavadora después que lava todo mi ropa, no aparece doblada sobre la cama o acomodada en el armario. De verdad las cosas no funcionan igual cuando somos adultos. Simplemente nadie no los explica tan claramente.

Y aunque los videos de instagram siempre me resultan muy entretenidos, veo exageración en algunos de ellos, hacerle a los hijos todo el desorden que ellos hacían en casa, te puede dar risa una o dos veces, hasta que te das cuenta que te comportas como ellos y eso no trae ninguna satisfacción.

Has negociado tu libertad al ellos crecer o quedaste atrapada en el recuerdo. Esperaste todo este tiempo para vengarte de ellos y no lograste corregirlos.

Muy bonitas las fotos que nos tomamos pero siempre hay detrás de ellas algo que no vemos, una negociación final.

Have you ever started writing about something you know nothing about? Something simply unplanned that changes everything? When you have an idea and want to develop it, but you just don't know where to begin, that's when you grab a pencil and paper and, amidst a jumble of ideas, you end up writing nothing. An exercise as simple as writing down your ideas becomes a step backward. In the end, you don't manage to express what you wanted to say. And yet, the negotiation has been successful. Because you haven't had to get up to wash the dishes or do the laundry.

It makes me laugh how my kids put their ideas on the table. That sink doesn't work the same as in Venezuela; the dishes don't wash themselves. And there must be something wrong with the washing machine; after it washes all my clothes, they don't reappear folded on the bed or neatly arranged in the closet. Things really don't work the same way when we're adults. It's just that nobody explains it clearly enough.

And while I always find Instagram videos very entertaining, I see exaggeration in some of them. Making the same messes your kids made at home might make you laugh once or twice, until you realize you're behaving just like them, and that brings no satisfaction.

Have you traded your freedom as they grew up, or are you trapped in the past? Have you waited all this time to get revenge on them, and you failed to correct them?

The photos we take are beautiful, but there's always something behind them that we don't see, a final compromise.
