Dragonflies- Macrophotography

Well, I found this harmless creature at my home today. From the last couple of days, I witness an aggregation of dragonflies in the sky and I attempted catching them, but whenever I tried to do so, they swoop about the sky.

Then suddenly I found this cute, harmless dragonfly at home. As I get closer, it did not move either. It got me interested; because the other day, I had many failed attempts in getting hold of them.

So I finally thought to take some shots, as this cute creature is not moving.

Then I mount my macro lens Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM on the Canon 7D Mark II and took few shots. I hope you would enjoy it.

Dragonflies are blessed with two compound eyes, with 28000 lens in each eye and with a 360⁰ vision.

Dragonflies are best in flight. They can move up, down, fly backward. Both sides have two wings each. And they can use these wings separately independent to each other, that makes them the best of flights.

Do you know why do I love a dragonfly the most?

Ans- Because I hate the mosquitoes the most and the dragonflies feed on mosquitoes. So not just me, the entire human race should be grateful to the dragonflies.

They are beautiful & harmless as well. These species are blessed with extraordinary vision, 360⁰, and even better than humans with a wider spectrum of colors. That helps them avoid any situation like an in-flight collision. Unfortunately, they are vulnerable to birds and other predators.
