Mariamman

Mariamman, or Amman, is revered as the goddess of rain and fertility. She is celebrated for her protective qualities against diseases, especially smallpox, and is seen as a nurturing mother figure who embodies the essence of life and sustenance. She is often invoked during the Thimithi or firewalking ceremonies, where devotees walk over hot coals as an act of devotion and to seek blessings, reflecting her protective and nurturing qualities.
