We're at a point where education is in such a shit state that the word "illiterate" requires an explanation in brackets. Granted, this is likely aimed at school projects. However, one would assume if a child is old enough to learn about Stalin they're old enough to know what "exiled" means. This type of crap is the equivalent of Common Core.
