Whataboutisms

A large pet peeve of mine is when someone is discussing a country, a policy or something else of importance that another person as a “counter-argument” will say: “Well, what about blah blah blah...”

For instance, atrocities are committed the World over. From Saudi Arabia’s human rights violations to Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to Myanmar’s genocide of the Rohingya Muslims. You cannot pass over one argument over the other by pointing out another ineptitude.

The old argument, “well look, they’re worse, they’re doing it too.” Bullshit. Weak argument and stop anyone who does this in their tracks.

Whataboutisms. A joke.
