I Lay No Claim (original poetry)
Before my eyes you shape shift
Once
Fluid malleable recognizable reason
Now
Stiff cold unidentifiable indifference
Throbbing back
Stomach burning
Time stands at attention
You fire your words off one by one
Disoriented
No reference
Spinning
They stack like Tetris
Building
But don't break down
Panic
They don't belong to me
Disembodied
I am not these sounds
Unthinkable
Letters break off

T
S
D
Free floating
Drifting
Transmuted
They bind my mind
Regardless of my ownership
Time marches on
