The ancestor of all domestic cats is the African Wild Cat that still exists today. Today, there are about a hundred distinct breeds of the domestic cat.

Like Birds, cats have a homing ability that uses its biological clock, the angle of the sun and the earth’s magnetic field. A cat taken far from its home can return to it. But, if the owner of a cat moves far away from his home, the cat will not be able to find its way back.

Cats bury their feces to cover their trails from predators.

Cats sleep for about 16-18 hours a day. When a cat is asleep, it is still alert to incoming stimuli.
Pregnant women are advised not to come in contact with cat’s feces because it contains an organism that can affect an unborn child and even cause a miscarriage.

Ten cat’s years relates to about 60 human years. A one-year-old cat is similar in age to an 18-year-old human.
