Casi / Almost

Su guante de seda ha cruzado mi rostro

Fuera la lluvia persigue a la noche

Sin descanso

Las palabras enredadas
en los acertijos de mi memoria
se niegan a doblegarse

El viento interviene
con un silbido pavoroso
que invoca un no se qué de humedad y tinieblas

Dentro sigue la lucha

Un poema esquivo
roza mi mente
es una fragancia
que antes de llegar se desvanece

El quieto murmullo apagado
se entrelaza con el silencio

Es la derrota

Muere la lluvia

Ya sólo es recuerdo

Al despertar
recordaré
que - casi - escribí un poema.

Its silken glove has crossed my face

Outside, the rain pursues the night

Relentlessly

The words tangled
in the riddles of my memory
refuse to yield

The wind intervenes
with a terrifying whistle
that evokes a certain something of dampness and darkness

Inside, the struggle continues

An elusive poem
brushes against my mind
it's a fragrance
that vanishes before it arrives

The quiet, muffled murmur
intertwines with the silence

It is defeat

The rain dies

Now it is only a memory

Upon waking, I will remember

that I almost wrote a poem.
