Void of Song
They mastered the earth
And conquered the sea
The black space without
And the impossible to see
Nothing was sacred
Nothing unturned
Their rule long and bitter
Over earth black and burned
They lusted evermore
For what they could not attain
Trinkets and baubles
Material gain
Their ending was sudden
But could have been seen
For nothing remains
Of what they had once been
Now the winds
Echo long
Over lands
Void of song
