Espoo's new boiler is a data centre

Espoo's new boiler is a data centre

Data centres run hot. Almost everywhere, that heat goes straight into the sky. Espoo kept it.

The city stopped burning coal for heat in April 2024, a year ahead of schedule. District-heating emissions then fell 62% in a single year, and are now nearly 90% below their 2014 peak.

What replaced the coal? Heat pumps — including the recovery plants that pull waste heat from Microsoft's data centres next door. Once fully running, that recovered heat will cover about 40% of district heating for roughly 250,000 people. Fortum's plants there are the largest of their kind anywhere.

The servers were always producing heat. Finland just decided to plumb it into the radiators.

This is the kind of engineering culture SDA is built inside: 100,000,000 tokens, fixed supply, no inflation, 0% transaction tax, on Solana. Explore SDA on CoinMarketCap.

The lesson is not "data centres are good". It is that infrastructure built where the engineering is taken seriously produces compounding, measurable results — 62% in one year, on the public record. SDA is a token, not a fund, issued under the MiCA Article 6 white-paper regime with FIN-FSA as competent authority, built by a team in Helsinki, Finland.
