Afghanistan is in the heart of central ASIA.Nearly half of the the population are Pashtun, and live in the south around Kandahar.They are descendants of people who came to the country 3,200 years ago.in ancient times it was crossed by trade routes connecting land to the east and west. more recently Afghanistan has been devastated by decades of nearly constant warfare. The capital is Kabul . Afghanistan borders Iran,Pakistan,Turkmanistan,Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.A narrow piece of land know as the Vakhan or Wakhan Corridor connects the country with china.
