Uniqueness repeated
Before closing the day.
Yesterday I started a new panel made of wood slices.
I started stacking the slices.
This time I'm doing it alone.
Yes, this is a repetition of a painting that has already been done, but each execution is unique.
In the past, we did it with several people. Now I do it alone.
Before that, there was another day when it was necessary to prepare the OSB plate. That is, install the stiffening lathing. Then the wood and the ends of the OSB had to be varnished. That is, a lot of work has been done.

The evening passes,
The work is a quarter done,
But with a soul.
The drawing is wild,
Annual rings dance
On the canvas.
Black screws
Bite into the plane,
Fix time.
Chips and a pencil,
The chisel cuts a sharp edge,
Sands a memory.
Lonely hands
Look for the right nest
For wood.
Everything is ready,
So that a new work can be born
From these pieces.
Delicate work,
That is invisible to the eyes,
Took a lot of strength.
Varnish on the ends
Shines in the evening rays,
Smells like a forest.
The edges are painted,
OSB will hide sharp cuts
Under a layer of protection.
The bars of the lattice
We fastened the strong wood,
To keep its shape.
But before
There was preparation of the slab,
The base is strong.
Now I am alone,
Only the sound of a hammer can be heard in the room.
Once we together
We assembled this mosaic world,
We divided the work.
Twice in a row
It will not be possible to do it the same way —
Here is a different fate.
A familiar image,
A repetition of an old theme
In new details.
Hours will pass,
Today I create everything
Alone, silently.
I put a circle,
One by one the pieces
Lie quietly.
Slices of wood,
The texture of each of them —
Like a secret.
The day is burning,
A new panel of round stones
