A rose that turned into a memory
To tell you the truth, I haven't been impressed with pricey or luxurious goods. I am always caught by simplicity, the little things, things that just spring from someone's heart without a desire to impress anyone. Yesterday, during the last class, one of my special education kids offered me a rose.
Teachers get flowers from students all the time now, it’s not new, we’re kind of used to it honestly. But this one was different. It turned out that he had been carrying that rose with him all day, through every lesson, so that he could deliver it to me during mine. As soon as I found out that, something in me simply melted. Ohh.
I know the rose will eventually die, the petals will fall away, the smell will go when it goes. But that's all good because I don't want the blossom to stay. I’m simply going to hold on to how it made me feel and that portion, I’m keeping that for a long time.”
Some flowers are never meant to stay fresh forever. They're meant to be a memory, and honestly this one's already one.
