How much haldi is too much haldi ? 💛💃

We don't know about you, but all we can hear are wedding bells in India. Everytime you refresh Instagram, there's another couple getting married. Opening Instagram feels like entering a wedding hall, smh. So while we're at it, I stumbled upon my recent shoot for a make-up artist who wanted to collaborate for a haldi makeover.

Now for all those wondering what Haldi is, here's a little info capsule on it. Haldi is one of the many pre wedding rituals practiced in India. So basically, haldi (which derived its name from the colour 'yellow') is a fine paste made from turmeric powder, gram flour, cream and sandalwood powder. It's a established fact that turmeric is well known for it healing properties and it's believed to add that extra glow to the wedding couple. So it's a common practice in India to perform the haldi ceremony in brides and grooms family. It's celebrated to shower blessings on the soon-to-be couple. Over the decades, this ritual has not just remained as a ritual. It's evolved to be a fun, vibrant and most looked-up-to pre wedding events. Fun, laughter, loud music, good food- A haldi ceremony is all this and more.

I've earlier written a detailed post on one of the most fun haldis I've ever attended. Since it was posted after a long gap, it did not see the light of the day. So linking it here for y'all to have a look at all the wonderful pictures from this day. These are some fun haldi pictures that'll make you all go "Awwwww".🥺 If you're a photography enthusiast, then I highly insist you to checkout the previous post on Haldi and Sangeet of #AbhiSabRamyaBharose along with their mind-blowing pre wedding shoot, all of which is linked in these previous posts. With all the vibrant pictures and videos from this haldi ceremony, I couldn't resist but make a Instagram reel. It really was a task to compress all the fun we had on that day in a 30 sec video. After giving you a glimpse of this event, it'll only leave you wanting to attend a haldi ceremony, for sure.😉

Here's the Instagram Reel and here's the Previous Post I've written about my friends Haldi Ceremonyand her beautiful Sangeeth Function
which I hope you guy's do check out. Pretty Please 🙈🥺

As much as I dislike the concept of marriage, I've always been curious to know what it feels like to be a bride. Right from getting all the extra love and affection from your family and friends to the wedding rituals, wedding outfits etc. But I think being a model has got me at least some of those experiences (partly, ofcourse), especially in traditional shoots. So you get to dress up as a bride and not get a husband 😂 How cool is that? For all those who relate to that, hi-fi to y'all 🙌😂

On the day of the shoot, I arrived at the make up studio where all the arrangements for the makeover was done by the make up artist. We did miss out on a few haldi accessory’s for the final look. But to our rescue, we managed to arrange few yellow flowers at the last minute to add that perfect bridal haldi touch. The photographer was ready by the time the makeover was done. We headed outside the studio to get few shots in the natural light. It was quite a challenge to get good pictures because of the lighting issue. But I think we did a decent job on this one. Linking the instagram pages of the make-up artist and the photographer for y'all to checkout their work.
