Actually understanding people

Most of the folks know how to speak. Few know how to listen.

A confident, charming speaker with a wordsmith can wrap you around their finger in no time.

But a skilled listener?

That’s uncommon.

They hear not just your words, but what you mean; they pick up on the things you do not say and fully make you feel truly known (rather than heard).

Blah blah anyone can fill a few silent moments with some chatty-chatter.

Yet it takes depth to stay silent and develop a bond.

Ultimately, it is the quality and not quantity of an interview that matters most.

Most of the time, it is that person who actually understands people.
