Reading Old Journals
Have you ever gone back through your old journals and read them? Or are your journals meant to never see the light of day? I sometimes find some old scribblings and the words are like a stranger to me. I cannot recall what was written. It's odd. Then there are other times when I find an old writing and can almost relive the moment. Which can both be a positive or a negative experience depending on the words written on the page.
So, do you go back and have a good life (or cry) with your former self or are your journal entries not meant for rereading?

I never went back before but someone pointed out that it can be helpful to see the growth and changes you've made year over year. So I'm going to try it when I finish a journal.
I'll do one last perusal before I shelve it and hope I'm making progress and not spinning in circles writing about the same things!
I've found posts that I have no memory of what was written. It was like being a stranger in my own memory. I've also found things that were emotional triggers (ugh), and I've also found some "Wow, look how far I've come since then." moments.
