Where is their new year

Visited chandigarh outskirts today-the downtown part. You will think of twice before getting down,was clicking some randoms of the shanty slums.

As i focussed my phone’s lens onto a little girl sitting just on the raised part of land, probably a place they do dishes( skeptical for the plural s gazing whatever they have), she left the bowl and ran to the hinged part of the bamboo bolstered canopy- a poor carcass of what we call a door.Standing there alongside her sister(sitting just beside her,visible if you focus)she gazed me from just outside of her ‘home’ ; hands folded in startlement probably, as i clicked this photograph.
It was just an incident but on my way back i saw hotels lit up, streets bustling with festivities,showrooms echoing new year deals and a vibgyor of lights on the bars and clubs euphoriating the new year frenzy.

‘Where is their new year?’ my mind asked me.
