La Coroleta

Greetings!

This peculiar vehicle is one of the many attractions in Ciudad Colonial. As you can see in the picture, it is powered up by approximately 10-12 people operating pedals to make it move. Apparently, while they're on the job, they can enjoy a drink (a beer or some juice for the kids) as well as talk to each other and tour the surrounding areas.

Since Ciudad Colonial is part of the Old Santo Domingo and also a heavily touristic zone, most people visiting the locale tend to move around it by riding bikes, so, this is quite the interesting twist to that tradition. I would like to try that someday :).
