Diamond embroidery. Ikon

In Ukraine, embroidery has always been popular. Our grandmothers embroidered clothes, bed-clothes, towels, paintings with colored threads. Embroidered blouses or shirts are in demand and now in our country.

Recently I saw another type of embroidery, where they embroider not with thread, but with colored rhinestones.
I decided to try to make an ikon. I ordered a canvas, with a thin layer of glue and rhinestones - diamonds.

Each diamond has a size of 2.5mm * 2.5mm.

Diamonds are lined with tweezers or a special stylus.

Work process: you need to turn the thin parchment back a few cm to open the sticky surface. On the surface there is a scheme and according to this scheme a diamond of the desired color is glued.
The work is laborious, but the result is worth it.
