Why I dislike motivation quotes

Context, that's the punchline. When I see "the sky is never the limit", "never give up", the first thing I think is Fuck you. The reason I got no context and the person got no context. "Never give up", sometimes you should give up. If you suck at basketball you should stop trying to get on the Lakers, rather try to buy the Lakers.

I consume and get something out of quotes, but that is only from one person, and that is Gary Vaynerchuk. I have all the context, and understand 100% what he means and what it doesn't mean.
