Why does a person go to church, in order to put a candle on the health or the peace of the deceased? The Lord says: "pray for the living"! Spiritual growth of a person is not related to the time of being in the church. People are usually like children, and the baby is not able to live as an adult.
1 Corinthians 13:11
"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things."
  Consider a child.

1. A baby has a mess everywhere: in the family, with money, with work and in service.
2. There is no sense of danger
3. Does not understand difficult things. We must learn to understand spiritual things!
4. Do not know how to communicate with people
5. Love toys
6. Quarrels without a reason
7. Can not take care of others
8. They argue about which of them is more (who is more important)
9. They can not build anything.
10. There is no practical solution to problems
11. they do not see the future, they do not make plans
    1 Corinthians 14:20
    "Brethren, be not children in mind: yet in malice be ye babes, but in mind be men."
    To grow, you need to change your thinking, develop it. If you think like a successful person, then you will become it!

1 Corinthians 3:1
"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, as unto babes in Christ."

1 Peter 2:2
"as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;
