Desfrán – Day 126
Making our way through the summer it is now late July and these have grown into larger globe shaped cannabis plants. I got a picture next to one, and you can see how big they really are. These are the largest cannabis plants I have ever grown. So I am quite proud of them, so I figured I would spend some time taking care of them. Cleaning up the brush around them and trimming the bottom branches that are touching the ground at this point.

Clearing the brush went pretty easily, I have a saw blade mounted to my weed whacker. Using that I cleared most of what I could and hand pulled the rest.

The brush that grows up around the cannabis plants is wild fescue, along with some wild flowers that came up after adding seeds to the area. I used wildflower seeds as a cover crop between growing seasons for the cannabis. Which is only from May through November, the rest the area grows wild.

The bottom most branches really do not do the plant much good at this point. And when they start to form buds they will probably just fall over and touch the ground making them rot right away.

I am really happy caring for my plants, having the freedom to grow them feels so good. And giving them as much space as they need to grow is rewarding. But commonly cannot be done due to people having to keep stealthy grows. But for me I am free to let them get as big as I want as long as I follow my local laws.

With the bottoms all trimmed back air flow can get up into the dense foliage a little easier.

I left the top alone, soon they will start forming buds.. Soon as in maybe a month from now.. lol

Those stalks are huge, well over an inch in diameter now.

Hoping the best for them.

Another one of the stalks they all look a little different but all quite big.

The forth cannabis plant is really going through a trial of fire right now. It has been getting its ass kicked by the mud when it rains heavily. I should probably put some mulch around it so the leaves dont get splattered.

Having the trunks exposed should be good for the plants. I think this is the first time I have done this.

The holes have naturally sunk in a little bit, but not too much I would think.

Probably time to add some wood chips to all of them, luckily I have a pile ready to go right next to them.

After trimming, I have so many cuttings of cannabis. Wish I could start them as clones, but legally I am at my limit. So I must just leave them be and not turn them into more plants.

Realizing how big these plants have got. I am rethinking of how I will be planting them next year. I think I may remove those posts and grow them in a single file line. I have the space and they need more so maybe next year I will have a whole new setup for them.

But for now I let them keep growing, the rains recently have given them lots of water. But if we go too long without water I will give them some as well. Probably will be a good time to give them some liquid fertilizers. As what I put in the ground with them when plants is probably all used up at this point.

STOPAmazing, they grow up so fast. Congrats Mr Green Thumb! Really good work.
Ohh, that's quite an impressive stalk. They grow buds?
How so?
I always thought the leaves itself was the cannabis plant strain 😭
I told you they would get huge outside.. they're looking great
Wow, you take good care of it. The marijuana plants look very fertile. I have never seen real marijuana plants because in our area marijuana plants are illegal. If we are caught growing them, we will be subject to narcotics sanctions which can result in imprisonment.
WOW, never seen cannabis trees before! Inquisitive as to why you wear a mesh hood when working on the plants, just asking for a friend
Those cannabis plants look beautiful. I can see your work and care for those plants, and now there is a good result.
so beauty those plants, you will harvest more than 1 kg. You will need a new pair of hands to cut those buds :D
Your cannabis plants have really grown very well. They look healthy vigorous, and very impressive. It’s clear how much time and effort you’ve put into caring for them, from clearing the vegetation around the plants to pruning the lower branches. I also enjoyed reading about your growing experience and the information you shared about the Desfrán strain.
I too really enjoy gardening and growing plants. I appreciate people who love to grow things and I like to encourage them to keep going and make even more progress.
Thank you so much for sharing this update and your growing experience with us. I wish you a great growing season and a successful harvest
I am assuming these are all going to be seedless right? So, next year you get some seeds from someone else? Never done this in life, and most of what I know was learned with friends.
Thanks indeed they do.
Yep they will when the summer starts to draw shorter they will sense it and start forming buds.
Nope the leaves are only important before the buds form. But as for what you want is the buds.
Yeah man you were right. They have grown into some massive plants.
Thanks
Ah thanks. Yeah the laws here changed a few years back to allow me to grow them here.
Hope they legalize where you live one day.
Haha they are indeed some trees now. I am amazed how big they have gotten.
I wear the hood because of gnats. They are really bad on the farm and tend to get into my eyes. So wearing a mosquito hood stops that.
Ah thanks. I do take a lot of care of them.
Appreciate the tip
Oh man I'd love to get that much. We shall see.
Haha yeah it's gonna be a lot of work harvesting all of them.. gonna wear gloves and probably need to clean the scissors after this grow.. lol
Ah glad you enjoyed seeing the progress of my plants.
You are welcome..thanks for coming by.
Yes these are what are known feminized seeds. Meaning they should only produce females.
I may try pollinating some in the future. But for now yes I have to get new seeds with every grow.
Thank you very much
3 plants? Looks like 5 pounds to me..
Ah ! thanks, for the explanation, I get it now
