Reputation systems suck

If it were for reputation systems we would still believe the Earth to revolve around the Sun

Many scientific discoveries or philosophical points of view would have been buried under an avalanche of downvotes.

Maybe women would still not be able to vote and work.

The only scenario were I see them useful is for trade.

Else they attempt against freedom of thought and speech.
