 World unites to save the seas ll nations have agreed to work together to save the oceans before 2030.  It will not be easy, but history shows international cooperation can  bring real change  If you need a good argument for protecting the world’s oceans, take a  deep breath. Half the oxygen you just inhaled originally came from the  sea, according to a recent UN report that highlights the status of the  world’s oceans and the value of protecting them. The oxygen comes from  untold billions of algae; microscopic plants that produce the air we  breathe, just like the plants that grow on land. “The ocean is crucial for life on Earth, including for human beings,”  says professor Katherine Richardson, one of the leading ocean experts  at the University of Copenhagen. “Our entire natural world has evolved
