Are all silver built the same?

For fun I wanted to see how much people would buy some of my pieces for.

I went to my favourite place to offload some metals and started scrolling down to their "we buy" section for silver

A part of me wasn't surprised to find out that they are willing to pay around 8% more for the 5 oz silver maples leaf than they would for the 5 oz silver bar from sunshine minting. They would pay even less for a random no name silver bar funny enough

This goes to show that although silver is silver, not all silver is worth the same in the eyes of the people

That is why if I was to buy silver I try my best to get modern silver maple leafs because they have the most real value of all coins and bars

The same would go for gold and platinum, the name really matters and the premium that comes with going with a known brand is really worth it at the end of the day
