Just some more background work.
Trying to figure out space ships and trolls, I think both are getting there. Trolls need some more “shape” or something and design still isn’t worked out enough for me, but it’s much closer.
Figure few more things out then either start a new layer and rework all the line work so it’s clean and tight or light box it and rework it on paper and ink it traditional. Hmm...
Oh a thought on where the monkey comes from...you ever play a video game and after killing a unit and it drops something you usually have to walk over and pick it up. In some games it becomes tedious to walk to all the crates etc.
So I always wanted a “loot monkey” a pet that runs and picks up loot so you don’t have to! His concept started there :) and I want lots of packs and belts etc for the sorta 90s comic look.

This loot monkey looks to be doing more than just picking up the tokens, he looks ready to shoot some weapons too!
Yea he is ready for trouble :) he has evolved into his own character for sure...I got some good ideas as I was drawing. One of his traits is going to be almost like how most cats and many animals like “shiny” things...so he has his own motivations. I also want to tap into like the excitement dogs can have when you are throwing them something...so Loot <that’s his name is going to get really excited etc when he knows he’s gonna get to loot.
His word/thought balloons are going to be images as well so can have some fun with how they communicate.

What do you mean 90s comic look over-accessorising will always be how you make characters look that little bit cooler and edgier XD
I always loved pets/familiars in games, there should always be loot monkeys xD
As for the trolls well I think you just about have the teeth down O_O lol XD
I guess you could do either of those things to clean up the lineart but honestly it looks interesting as is.
