don't be hurt

I've been reading up on stoicism recently and I really like this quote

"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it;
and this you have the power to revoke at any moment."

• Marcus Aurelius

another quote from him is, "Choose not to be harmed - and you won't feel harmed.
Don't feel harmed - and you haven't been."

I love the idea that we choose our reactions to the world around us.
We don't have to let it hurt us.
