Talented means Suicidal?

I was having this conversation with @steeminjim the other night about "What is going on with the way of thinking that most talented artists are having?"

Deep in my mind I always thought that the more talented an artist can get, the more likely they will kill themselves. For example, Heath Ledger, Prince, David Bowie, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell and so on and on and on. They killed themselves either from hanging or from drugs. This gives me wondering every time I hear about a celebrity died from killing themselves; not long after the news will be full of titles saying Gone To Soon - Talented Artist Just Died From Suicide.

So if the good ones have gone too soon because they made a decision for themselves, does it means the one that decided to stay alive is not talented enough? Is there any scientific relation between their work of art and their mental illness? Is the art made them do that or they're just mad?

Me and James even found a linked article discussing about the thoughts we have that night. Here it is http://bigthink.com/philip-perry/is-there-a-link-between-creativity-and-mental-illness

If you have the same thoughts we're having now, please share yours in the comment below :-)

Cheers,
