I'm new to steemit and I've no clue how it works I heard it give u money for blog posts so like can it be any type of blog post? Or people actually pay you if they like the post?

If you get people to give votes to your posts, you earn SBD and SP.
SBD can be cashed out to Bittrex, while SP makes your account stronger.
