WeChat Micro App revolutionary?

I shared it on my linkedin blog, I think I might as well share it here.

Today, I came across some source code on developing WeChat Micro App, the concept is that you can build app on top of We Chat instead of creating a native app!

Sounds cool right?

Source code wise, it is using JavaScript and XML. (something like React Native)

I wonder any western company like Facebook and Google will ever consider making this approach? (Since Facebook created React Native and Google created Android, who border using an app in their app?)
