Guinness World Records lists the Mona Lisa as having the highest insurance value for a painting in history. At The Louvre museum in Paris, the Mona Lisa was assessed at US$100 million on December 14, 1962. Taking inflation into account, the 1962 value would be around US$790 million in 2016. But seriously why? Why is that expensive? Let me tell you why because of us people who makes it that expensive by giving it a value. That's all. Rest is BS. Just like gold. Why is gold so valuable? Because us the humans give it a value.
