DOES EDET STILL LIVE IN CALABAR?

Gone are the days when almost every Basic School (formally called primary school) uses the same textbooks and read the same literature.

You could easily identify a pupil’s class by the English textbooks 📚 he read. There was this excitement that comes with graduating to a higher class and getting the textbooks for that class.

It was like a journey of growth for most of us.

For someone that was given birth to in the late 90s, I read a lot of Macmillan textbooks and I could literally read all the passages without opening the book. We were all really fond of it.

They were interesting stories, those passages related to one another. It was as if those characters were real and we loved to meet them someday.

Do you think that system of learning was better, even though we have more advance books that helps to build a pupil’s vocabulary now?
