My Wallet and I

Today I would like to share with you my terrible holiday at Kok Kong province, the southwestern province of Cambdia, a few years ago. The second night of my holiday, My family and I were discussing happily about where we would visit the next day, last day of the New Year. After that, I slept excitedly with the feeling of pleasure and enjoyment. As I got up late in the morning, I hurriedly packed my bag in order to leave the hotel early. Unfortunately, I realized that I had lost my wallet while I was packing. I tried to look it out anywhere in the hotel, but I could not find it at all until it was nine. I was numb at that time and I decided to tell my parents the truth.

First, it was such a relief when my parents said “It is ok, we need to go now”, and we started our trip. While we were traveling to the beach, however, my parents started to blame me continuously. They said “What else can you do? Even your own wallet, you cannot keep it safely”. With the feeling of embarrassment and depressant, I sat still without saying any single word and waited for the arrival. I believe some of you could relate this feeling. About ten o’clock, we reached the beach. Everyone was enjoying their day except me who was sitting and thinking about the terrible mistake that I had done. I did not do anything else on the beach even swimming which is my most favourite hobby. After five hours at the beach, we went back home at three o’clock. Everyone looked so tired but there was a smile on their faces showing that they were very happy, unlike me who was very disgraceful.
To reflect, though my holiday did not bring me any joy or fun, but sadness, I could learn a valuable lesson which has made me become who I am today. I have learned to have strong self-awareness of my belongings, and take things more seriously.
