A convenience store built on a cliff has been a highlight at the Shiniuzhai National Geopark in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province. Over 100 meters above the ground, the store was built as part of a rock climbing project in order to offer water and snacks for tourists during and after climbs.

Early in 2017, a pop-up shop was seen on Colorado's Bastille Wall in Eldorado Canyon, but it was only open for 24 hours as part of an extreme marketing stunt.
