That day she was going out with her granny to buy her milk, and her mum dressed her in a dress she’d made from some scraps of fabric left over from the dress I’d sewn for myself.

Ever since then we’ve been calling each other ‘the little brunettes’ – ha ha ha – how lovely and fun it is to be an aunt!
