Epicness underway

The sheet to keep track of the Hive Poker Series are now complete.. I think.
Feel free to drop any suggestions to improvements you have.

Point structure

This remains the same as previous:

This can of course be extended to accommodate a larger audience. Finger crossed for that to happen!
The entrants are determinded by number of names in the Participants list.

List of Participants

This one is the least advanced part, and it doesn't really appear that nice either, but it does what I want it to.

I'd call this a fairly simple list. It does have a little check in place - hence the "duplicates" column.

You might also ask "what's with the highlighted cells?". I'll get back to that in a minute, but first, let's explore the duplicates function.

If I accidentally add a player twice to the list or I put in two identical finishes, it will warn me:

When there is an error, the points will not be calculated or distributed in the results of the round.

Here it is. The points distributed for the round.

Obviously there is an error somewhere. We saw that when we set it previosly, so let's remove it and see the new result.

Now we can also get back to why those highlighted cells are in the participants list.

The Leaderboard

If a name from the Participants list are missing on the leaderboard, it will highlight the participant, to alert me, that this user has to be added to the leaderboard.

Quite clever if you ask me! 😃

In the next example, we are assuming, there has already been played one tourney and the above are the results of the 2nd tourney.

You may notice the three (3) highlighted from before are missing.
In the leaderboard, there is also some highlighted names. Those are simply being shown to illustrate that they are not participating in this round.

The column to the right has total point-tally before this round. That is "manually" entered by me. By manually, I mean I will copy the values from Total score before I reset for the next round.

I feel it will be irrelevant to show that the highlighted names in the Participants list is no longer highlighted when added to the leaderboard.

However, what is not irrelevant is the total sheet (and of course you can also see I added the bottom line in the leaderboard).

Here it is. Lo and behold. The holy grail.

Snook had my best interest at heart in sending the link when I was not on the tag list.
My response brought out a conversation that brought about thoughts that were hiding in the shadows. Because, I had not had that needed conversation.

All the if's and why's aside. My reasons to talk are those of finance that helps. Mostly that is what I concentrate on. An effort to build something that can provide financial help. A help that cannot be removed. A help that is determined by the individual need. I see many future forks to this.

For your project to succeed you need finance. And you need to have an ambition to not rely on charity or begging to provide that finance for the poker games.
You also need to generate the finance to employ a develop a team of people around the game. In doing all of this you must avoid using a gaming site or be liable. Youi must also not financially gain from the game or you run a casino or some other form of gambling you do not have a license to host.

Do not use its crypto under no jurisdiction as a cope out. Be honest open and big prizes available for members. This needs some discussion.

While advertising is important. it is all done wrong around here. If you want the people we need to play at the big boys table. (Needs big discussion).

If you have interest in developing and investing to the future of the game. I am open to providing the how to.

I would like to get some poker going again on the chain. I think it (well) looks safer if a known witness is involved. Witness should be part of a multi sign for release of held finance by an account.

For this to work (the idea) Patches would be needed for players to wear.

Players would play through the year to earn points. And funding for the games would be built through activity for the most part. Delegations and other methods can boost self reliance and reduction of the same methods.

In creation of a league in the poker. Players can opt in to a pool for real live games at maybe not the WSOP to start. But tournaments that get televised by GGpoker or Poker GO pokerstars or other. Where the patches are worn.
Use that manner to advertise the poker and if a player won a ticket from the site and word got out? Maybe?

Now I have have the thought not the ability to bring it about. I see how to give it solid structure that can hold up against a decline ion Hive value.

I see anything less standing still.
