About Me

Hey, I’ve done this before, but seems I didn’t do it right so here goes. My name is Obasi Ojo. I’m from Ohafia in abia state, south eastern Nigeria, which is in west Africa. I’m average heighted, sometimes athletic, sometimes fat. I love sports, especially football. I support Chelsea Fc, world champions 😌. I was born on the 14th of October, 2001. In 20 years of age.

Family

I’m the first son in a polygamous family. My mom is late, I was raised by my first step mother, I have 5 siblings through my father. My family is really big, and every decision goes through everybody, including extended family members, which brings me to the next topic

Trajectory

I was always a nerd, one of the top students till I was in secondary school (high school). My “brilliance” led to me spending 4 out of the required 6 years before entering the university. My family believed I was smart enough to pass and thank God I didn’t disappoint. I used to love mathematics, physics and computers, and hoped to become an aeronautic or robotic engineer.

Christmas of 2016 I was called for a family meeting and told to abandon my engineering dreams because in Nigerian I wouldn’t get a good job. My uncles, and my mom (the one that raised me) who believed I was smart pushed me to read medicine, with the notion that Nigerian doctors always had something doing admist the unemployment rate.

2017 - 2021 I was a medical student. It had it’s up and downs but I did not want to be a doctor. I started forex trading in 2019, when my parents retired and became good at it. I started making money off it and soon entered the world of blockchain and cryptography. I was able to find myself through school till last year I decided to dropout

Safe to say, no one at home received the news well. What could I say? I didn’t want to live an average life or a sad one. I chose to learn data analytics and pursue a degree in accounting this year and I pray God favours me and answers my prayers.

Getting on Hive

Well, I’ve been on the steemit platform for a year and some month, I noticed some whales from the older posts have left, I began digging and after reading a series of posts on the politics and all that went down with ninja mining and the acquisition of steemit by Justin Sun, I realized this made the whales leave. Since then, it’s been over 6 months of trial and error in creating an account on hive.

One exit that stood out to me was @trafalgar. He usually voted our diary games and I noticed his absence and started trying to find out what happened and where he is now.

I’m hoping to start a writing series on hive and I don’t know what community to do this on, I’m counting on your help, I’ll probably start off on OCD if I don’t get a feedback. 🥂cheers to a new journey.
