CASSIOPEIA

This constellation is often referred to as the "chair'' and is one of the most prominent in the northern skies. It revolves around the pole along with the dippers. If one can imagine this as a chair, he can't help but note that it would be very uncomfortable. I prefer to think of this group as a lazy "W" or " M" depending upon whether it is above or below the Pole Star. Cassiopeia was the wife of. Cepheus and mother of Andromeda, who are represented by other star groups in the sky. She was boastful of her beauty and was justly punished, I suppose, by having to sit in the very uncomfortable chair. She contains the navigational stars Ruchbah and Caph.
