This week's Weekly Challenge is all about Dragons! The Dragon splinter is very unique, as it has the ability to pair up with any other splinter in the game! This does come at the downside of the summoners being on average one mana more than other summoners, however.

My goal was to utilize Djinn Chwala as an anti-melee counter

# The Lineup https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_76bb56500705308c8fb2a63fe1ac00e7 This battle featured the Knockout Ruleset, so I made a change of plans to take advantage of it. In order to run Dragons, I used Drake of Arnak as my summoner, pairing with the Fire splinter.

For my main tank, decided to use Pit Ogre, since his Stun could prove to be VERY valuable.

In the second slot, I used Fineas Rage for his reach ability.

In my third slot, I used Djinn Chwala, planning for her to be the true tank, as the Pit Ogre and Fineas are intended to just be high damage output with the stun on Pit Ogre and Fineas' damage and speed. In slot number four and five, I used Fire Elemental and Lava Launcher as high damage ranged units.

In my final slot, I used Gargoya Lion to defend against any potential sneak from my opponent.

The Battle

My opponent also chose to use dragons, with their own Djinn Chwala on the frontline!

It worked! My Pit Ogre was able to successfully stun my opponent's Djinn Chwala!

By the end of round 2, I've lost Fineas Rage and my Pit Ogre, but my opponent lost their Djinn Chwala and Sand Worm, leaving them with no tank, as my Djinn Chwala takes the front line!

Round 3 ends and victory is within reach, my team still stands, and my opponent is left with only their Spark Pixies and Fire Spitter!

I miss the Fire Spitter about 8 times over the course of the next four rounds, but since the Fire Spitter can't return any damage to me, it was only a matter of time before my team sealed the deal, bringing me victory!

Closing Thoughts

My strategy was extremely risky, but it paid off! Getting the stun off on the enemy Djinn Chwala allowed me to finish it two attacks faster than normal, giving me enough time to bring my opponent's sand worm to the front and kill it before it had the chance to make a second attack. With my Djinn Chwala saved for later in the fight, my opponent had no chance of turning the battle around, as the rest of their melee was rendered useless. If you are struggling against melee teams, look into picking up a copy of Djinn Chwala to help you out. With her high armor AND health combined with thorns, she turns becomes the nightmare of any low mana melee team.

Thanks for reading, and take care!
