In Lost Heaven.

I started playing the definitive edition of Mafia and enjoyed its cinematic opening. The story introduced Detective Norman meeting Thomas Angelo, also known as Tommy, in a café. Tommy wanted protection for his wife and daughter in exchange for information, leading him to reflect on his past life as a cab driver.

I was really enjoying the new Mafia title, which impelled me to try out the original game. Since we had the definitive edition available, I thought it was a great idea to test it out.

I saw classic cars on the streets, including one belonging to the US Mail, and the whole environment gave off a strong movie vibe that completely sold me on the intro.

The opening sequence showed a man exiting a metro train. He wore fancy clothes and looked like a detective, walking down the street until he entered a café.

It turned out he was Detective Norman, and he came to meet Thomas Angelo, also known as Tommy, who seemed to be my playable character. Tommy sat at the table and made sure he could pay for the coffee.

He asked Norman how long he had been in town, and Norman replied it had been three years, working on the Morello case.

Tommy mentioned that the case must be getting pretty cold, but he had something that could warm it up. Tommy explained that he had a wife and a daughter to protect from the mob, so he needed protection for his family.

Norman made it clear that he could not promise anything until he heard what Tommy was trading. He knew Tommy was on the run and wanted to hear the full story first to see if it was worth helping him.

Tommy then began to share his past, recalling how he was just a regular cab driver back in the 1930s before everything changed.
