The Light of my Dark Side

To close to the end of the cliff looking down.
Life passing by my troubles, fears, and my frown.
A smile turned upside down and fertile for permanent.
Like a desperate cold mocking mess built on things that seem so bent.

Often this darkest commotion reaches for my soul to trap it still.
My heart in constant battle with the sleeping pill.
Every day ... 3 times a day ... numb to emotional reality.
Leaving me empty and with broken sanity.
