FGM LAW PETITION

On January 17th 2018, Dr Tatu Kamau filled a petition in the high court seeking that the law banning fgm be outlawed and declared unconstitutional.

The doctor further goes on to say that the law on fgm is discriminatory against women since the opposite of fgm is male circumsion yet it is allowed.

To add on, most people say that fgm should not be allowed because of its cons but the same way smoking is not prohibited is the same way fgm should also not be prohibited.

Furthermore as Mahatma Gandi once said embracing western culture is a good idea but it should not be superior to our African culture.
