How cool, I love checking these kinds of things out. I want to be an author but I really don't think I have the mental bandwidth, or maybe I have habits preventing me from making any progress. Habits that are just too long cemented for me to change. Anyway this is cool.
I picked up a kindle copy of The Madness. I'll let you know what I think of it when I'm done. Sounds promising
Thank you for your kind words and for reading The Madness. That book has been highly praised. I wrote that following a year working on a national security team attempting to address vulnerabilities to the North American electrical grid. That was an eye-opening experience, learning of the threats we face and how quickly the population of the entire continent could be wiped out. I had just finished Julienne Begins Again and I had been asking myself: What would happen if Jackson Rice and the Booker Team weren’t successful in defeating one of those threats?
About writing, most of us are busy, and the thought of writing a novel can be intimidating. When I started I was managing one business for someone else, and starting another of my own. I find that the way to approach that is to start small, one brick at a time and eventually you’ve built a house. This is one of the methods I teach, and I recently did three short videos talking about it. My books usually start by hearing a song or reading about some event in the news. Then I start easy: I write a paragraph or two about that event and start adding parts as they come to me. I have dozens of stories with only a few paragraphs or a chapter. They wait for me to come back. 😉 If you get enough of those seeds planted, sooner or later one of them will call you to return.
