Mining Mike: Mech Survivor
so im working on a game with a couple other people thats a mech-themed rougelike survivor game with RTS elements. its called Mining Mike as of right. now. im the artist for the game as it goes and we are trying to get a strong vertical slice of the game done before steam next fest in october, of which the deadline to submit it is the end of august.
im going to be just cleaning up my desktop and making note of progress by way of this hive blog. i hope you all dont mind.

Nice! Looks more like you are approaching a full demo than just a vertical slice. If you are going for Next Fest in October, I would assume you're planning to actually release not too long after? Should probably also get your Steam page up ASAP so people can start wishlisting!
yeah. actually... upon thinking about this.. your right. you want to release like a month after next fest tops... so its foolish to do next fest and then NOT KNOW when you are gonna actually release.. might not want to rush next fest i think
Yeah, Steam algorithm is definitely a momentum game. And next fest is a huge boost, can really take you into your release with excitement. Though they have changed things on Steam lately, so could be all different now. 😅
yeah im really trying to learn about it all. strategies on releasing a game. been watching alot of youtube. i feel like unless a streamer plays your game you arnt gonna get like tens of tousands of wishlists
