Cannabis crypto-currency?
So it seems like Tokes is the crypto for cannabis. The team has been developing this currency on the WAVES blockchain and the goal is to be the currency of choice for personal and business transactions for cannabis. It could be anything from buying at dispensaries to making larges purchases by businesses.
Their recent announcement talks about a partnership with a company that provides tours for people to different cannabis dispensaries. These agencies will then give 20$ worth of Tokes to the individuals which they can use towards purchases.
The question is: Why create a specific currency for this? Why not take payment of other currencies that are out there and well established today?

There's been loads of these and they're each as pointless as the last as none of them offer a single incentive over Bitcoin or indeed fiat money to anyone.
Dopecoin, Cannabiscoin, MaryJcoin, Weedcoin just to name a few. Every year in mid April they rise in price because idiots buy them thinking that bigger idiots will buy them on 4/20 because obviously that's what stoners do on 4/20, they spend their money on cryprocurrencies named after cannabis...
In my opinion this specific currency is created in order to develop the idea of disseminating the cannabis to all people that need it. As you know in the most countries the cannabis is considered illegal, so that is the way the things should happen. Using payments through other crypto currencies can be too risky anyway, though it is not that impossible...
