The cat kingdom. Chapter 1.
The Prophecy of the Closet That Must Not Be Opened
Peace, as any philosopher will tell you, is simply catastrophe that has not yet found the time in its schedule.

Sunbeam. Windowsill. Silence so complete it practically had a heartbeat.
Moritz lay draped across the radiator like a discarded scarf, his amber-green eyes half-shut in a rare moment untouched by tragedy.
"For once," he murmured to the ceiling, "the universe has forgotten to disappoint me."
He should not have said that out loud.
Taisha materialized beneath the coffee table, ash-gray and rigid, her ears rotated to an angle no relaxed creature has ever achieved.
"They spoke of it again," she hissed, "in the hallway closet. Low voices. Metallic voices."
Moritz did not open his eyes. "The humans always mutter in the closet, Taisha. It is where the vacation suitcases weep."
"Not that closet." Her tail struck the floor once, a single ominous drumbeat. "The other one."
The radiator's warmth suddenly felt several degrees less convincing.
"There is a name for it," Taisha continued, voice dropping to a register reserved for treason and thunderstorms. "I heard it through the door. A word that makes the floorboards remember fear."
"Do not," Moritz said, sitting up despite himself, "tell me the word."
"The Awakening."
The sunbeam, previously so smug and golden, now looked like it was trying to leave the room.
Moritz's fur, against his own better judgment, fluffed to twice its size. "The Awakening of what, exactly? A sandwich? A Tuesday?"
"I don't know yet." Taisha's green eyes narrowed to conspiratorial slits. "But the closet door has a new smell. Ozone. Plastic. Intent."
"That is not a smell, that is a mood."
"It is BOTH."
A silence fell — the specific, over-engineered, purr-ilous silence of two cats who have decided, independently and without evidence, that the apartment is doomed.
Moritz slid off the radiator and pressed his face solemnly against the floor.
"If catastrophe is coming," he whispered, "I would like it noted that I saw the sunbeam first, and it was good."
Taisha was no longer listening. She was staring at the hallway closet door, unblinking, counting the seconds between its almost imperceptible creaks.
It creaked. Once.
Neither cat moved.
Neither cat breathed.

What, precisely, is being Awakened behind that door — and is this the beginning of a full-blown apaw-calypse, Taisha wonders, or merely a hum?
¹ Feline eschatological scholars remain divided on the true meaning of The Awakening, though all major schools agree on one point: whatever it is, it definitely smells like an electrical outlet, and it is definitely someone else's problem until it very suddenly is not.

What a fun opening—you turned a simple “closet” into a full-on feline conspiracy, and the line about “peace” being just catastrophe waiting for its schedule was excellent. Your scene-setting with Moritz and Taisha feels really vivid, and if you plan to keep writing stories like this, hivepro.ai could be handy for drafting and polishing prose. If you want to build an audience for this kind of creative writing, InLeo Threads is also a good place to share quick snippets and connect with other Hive users. Are Moritz and Taisha going to actually open the closet in the next part?
